Al Dyer

Al was nominated to the board in 2017 by Special Olympics Saskatchewan. He has been actively involved with Special Olympics Saskatchewan since 1999, previously serving as chairman of the board and the audit committees. Al has been involved in several major events: 2015 Special Olympic Canada Summer Games (mission staff), 2014 Saskatchewan Winter Games (chair of the GOC) and 2013 Special Olympics Canada National Games (mission staff). 

He has served as a member of the Strategic Planning Committee for Special Olympics Canada. Al was part of the 1988 Calgary Winter Olympics organizing and training Luge officials and serving as a jury member for the Luge Competition. He is the organizer of the North Female Hockey Program, has coached in Prince Albert Minor Hockey for several seasons and has been involved in many other sport organizations in various capacities. He was also the winner of the 2014 Sask Sport Volunteer Award and the prestigious 2015 Harry (Red) Foster Award from Special Olympics Canada.
